Blogging has recently been gaining popularity, again. While it requires bloggers to take a leap of faith, they are passionate about sharing what they love with the world, hoping to make a positive impact. But, creating content demands a significant amount of effort and dedication.
If you have a blogger friend or two and are unsure how to support them, here are seven simple ways you can help:
Click and Read
A blogger depends on you, the reader. When you read an article, you also view the ads within it. These ads are income based and provide small earnings. In addition, the more time you spend on their website, reading and perusing, it notifies Google that it is helpful and will rank their website higher in future searches.
By taking a few minutes to read each new article, and view the advertisements in between, will help provide an income, boost their website’s ranking and can open opportunities for collaborations.
Get Involved on Social Media
The quickest and easiest way to support your blogger friends on social media, is to click the follow, like and share buttons across your favorite social media platforms. In just seconds, you can help a blogger boost their post, gain exposure and connect with a larger audience, growing their blog, and website. Besides, sharing is caring, unless it’s germs… don’t share those!
ask if they need help
Writers block. It happens, more often than most bloggers would like to admit. After all of the planning, they, I mean me, just run out of ideas. Perhaps they just need a second set of eyes or someone to bounce ideas off of. But, asking followers for help can be completely uncomfortable.
If you have a friend who is silently struggling with creating content, ask if they need help and offer suggestions that align with their brand. Even if it’s not an idea they use immediately, just having the idea stored in content rotation can bring relief.
Use affiliate links
This one is a game changer, you guys! To help offset the cost of content creation, bloggers often recommend relevant products they own, use and love. By making a purchase using their affiliate links, they receive a small commission, at no cost to you. And, sometimes, if you use their affiliate but choose a different product, they get a commission for that, too.
Can’t find their affiliate or referral link? Just ask! I know they would be so grateful.
give feedback… privately
Did you find a grammatical error? Does the website format look a little funky? If you have found a mistake, send a text or message on social media, letting them know you have found an error.
Mistakes happen and sometimes, they get overlooked. By giving them feedback, privately, it will help to curate better content.
Rate and Comment
If available, rate their article and post a comment. Maybe you found an article to be extremely helpful or you tried their recipe and loved it, sweet words of encouragement and affirmation go a long way, not just for your blogger friend but with fellow readers, by building trust in their content.
subscribe to their newsletter
Other than social media, a newsletter is a great way to stay informed! Often bloggers will show their appreciation by giving you a first look at new articles, offer freebies and send extra content.
Joining their e-mail list is a quick, one time click that leaves your friend encouraged to share additional content with the special community they worked so hard to build.
A Special Thank You
As with any business, blogging is not easy. It takes an immense amount of work. Because of this, my heart bursts with gratitude for each new follower, like, comment, and share. It leaves me humbled and inspired. I am so excited you’re here, supporting me, sharing this journey with me and I hope that in some way, you’re inspired and encouraged, too! I still have so much to share with you all; so, I hope you stay a little while.
